PPN Report

Light's essay, "Elegy for a Garden" describes the battle around Esperanza, a New York community garden.
For more information about Esperanza and NYC community gardens, see the links below:
For a blog on its destruction, see:  http://wrybread.com/gardens/esperanza/index.shtml

In the wake of the destruction of Esperanza, a new garden was built on an alternative site "Nueva Esperanza."  Unfortunately, it now also is under threat:  http://www.moregardens.org/node/150
Community Gardens in New York
CUNY's Center for Urban Research maintains a wiki and maps of community gardens throughout the city.

This is a great game that comments on New York city park planning while allowing you to explore the political minefields of creating your own park.
